My parents sent me 100 dollars to spend on some Copic Markers for my birthday. So I go to the website, ready to order...and found that they raised the prices. I could SWEAR it was a little over 50 dollars for a set of 12, but now it's 76 dollars. OH MY GOD.

So screw that. I'll buy a couple Copics then go to Utrecht and buy some Prismacolors with the rest.

In the meantime, another request gone and done! It's Lisa's, who asked for "A leviathan-bird-girl."



Two more left, Mel's sounds like it's gonna be hard.


I got a birthday picture from my buddy, Mr. Bob. I'm blue because sometimes I draw myself as that strange little soap bar, but sometimes I'm a creepy blue soap person. Yeeee-haw!



We've started a daily art grind between the two of us! Every day we have to draw at least one decent picture, which is an awesome idea because I don't motivate myself to draw nearly enough. It's gon' be fun. I'll count Lisa's picture for today's drawing.

First order of business:



It's now my 21st birthday. I drew this picture to myself, who's the best at being a big jerk who's stupid and whose big ugly face is as dumb as a butt.


I drew a whole mess of things for y'all who commented and IMed, and completed 5 of the requested 8 pictures!

Matt wanted this one. I haven't drawn a Sailor Moon character in probably YEARS! This is my favorite of the evening, though it took about an hour. It's got haphazard strokes, but I don't think it looks really messy. It's my eventual goal to make even bad sketchy things look good.

One of AJ's friends was over, and asked me to 'paint' something. I ain't good at painting, but I did this in 35 minutes. I'M ON A ROOOOLL

kiwipanda requested this rather random subject to keep me from drawing something mercury_hat asked me to draw about him instead. ^_~ (I DREW IT ANYWAY BAHAHAH, but I won't post it here to protect the innocent!)

I started on Lisa's request, but I'm damned tired now and her picture is really very ambitious - I want it to look cool! I hope I wake up tomorrow still feeling inspired enough to continue hers, Mel's and CJ's pictures. I spent about six hours this evening drawing all of these for fun, and it was great. Normally, I set ridiculous expectations and a simple picture will take entirely too long, but today I forced myself to avoid zooming in at all. Till tomorrow, then!

So...her hair acts as her clothing. That's kinda gross.

I flipped through AJ's Suikoden V artbook yesterday, and saw a cool-looking girl with blonde and green hair, so there was some slight color inspiration there. I'd like to get better at manipulating colors without using overlay layers...which I totally used in this picture. Uuuugh, I just want to draw things that look GOOD again! My hands in drawings have been especially weak as of late.

I made a bunch of robot things in Maya, then MELTED THEM 4 SCRAP

Over break I tried to do some cool Resident Evil fanart, but nothing looked good. Neither does this, but ahhhh welllll. I didn't even know I was going to make it Jill until I did the hair.

On Saturday while I was still at home, my dad came from errands with some more RAM for my laptop. WOOHOOOOOO, EARLY BIRTHDAY AND BETTER COMPUTAH.

Drew a couple things.



Just a gift fer a friend, who's always been a doll of a gal. Even though we only go something like once a semester, she's mah' gym budy.



This little guy is Enki, from a show called Twelve Kingdoms that AJ's been showing me. It's a cool show. I used Copics for his shirt thing, but it definitely didn't blend well. Maybe I need *gasp* a blender. At least, I hope that's all it is -- I'm sure a lot of it has to do with me suckin'. My birthday's coming up next Thursday, so my parents said they'll just give me money to pick out what colors and stuff I want from the Copic website.

I said I'd post it today when they announced the contest results, but they extended that date till next Monday. Whatevah, then. I colored, loyal_one did everything else from creating the character in the first place, to designing and drawing the lineart here:



So I've lived with this fellow art major for over 7 months, and only now are we doing any collabs. That's just the epitome of lazy, y'know? I don't care what the prizes for this are (something about a T-shirt and a video game?), it was fun to color and I haven't entered any contests in so long. We gonna rawk.

...Whyyy pray tell is Samurai Champloo on at ONE O CLOCK? I don't feel like staying up that late, but I believe it's the last episode so I have to, blah~

I tried to draw a lot of things this evening, all fanart. First I tried Lucy from Elfen Lied, failed, then I tried Sailor Moon for nostalgia's sake, failed, then I tried Faye, Ed, and Ein, failed like a bitch, then I went back and tried Lucy again, RE-FAILED...then got angry and drew this Lucy instead.



So I can't draw today, but I'm cool with coloring! I worked on an utterly badass water-themed picture with AJ for this original-Naruto-ninja-character contest. He wanted to win a T-shirt, and I wanted to pay him back for giving me rides all last week -- and I'm always up for a good collab. I don't watch the show at all, but the character he made up rocks ass in both backstory and design.

Anyway, he drew and I colored -- I'll post the picture after we find out who wins and stuff.

chewy_kinzoku provided me with a cool comic font, neater than Anime Ace 'cause it has a special way of writing the letter "I." Hurrahhh! Along those lines, I haven't pulled out any comic, photo or animation HW during all of break so far. Un-hurrahhh! >_____>

I was going for a cross between Resident Evil (STARS) and Hellsing, with her uniform. 'Just wanted to draw some badassery, so she gets a big gun and some decent muscles. [Edit] Oh, and yeah, I'm aware that her butt couldn't possibly be visible at that angle in reference to the rest of her body, but ahhhh well!

I can't find the inspiration to draw today, so I drew myself trying to find the inspiration to draw. Today.

I've been hacking at the same drawing for about four hours, and gave up to draw this instead. It's just one of those evenins'!


The airbrush in Painter is cool for blood spraying.

WHAT. Those kinds of things happen all the time, sometimes they try to go through the Power Rangers Routine or summon Captain Planet. People post there so much that it takes a lot of tries to run through without double posts, so even if it was planned it was well-timed. Yeah, I spend my spare time laughing at stupid things. SO??? ;_;

The video game commission project is done! It's taken 4 months to the day, but it's finished, and I feel so floaty and freee (though I shouldn't because I have loads of work to do beyond this one project). The game won't be finished for at least six months, but I can wait. If you're new to this journal, then I've been drawing 2-6 poses for each of these characters, and I made up this image by picking one pose from each to combine.

Allergies were dragging me down yesterday, but I feel 3231268936 times better today! Yay.



Okay, explanation time! mercury_hat made up this obnoxiously cliche character for fun, and I was inspired to draw her. I did the lineart months ago and only now found the free time to color it. HURRAY 4 NO MORE SKOOOOL.
